Abstract:

Ppm2oof is a gui tool for assigning material properties to different parts of a graphical image of a microstructure. There are various ways to select and group pixels, materials specification applies to the currently selected pixels. Ppm2oof starts up with the command line

ppm2oof -f file.ppm

Graphical windows appear with a point-and-click interface, designed (hopefully) so that you can start using ppm2oof without a manual. The goal is to assign material properties to all parts of the image and then write a file which the program oof can do calculation on. We call such a file (i.e., a grid of element properties suitable for oof) a "goof" file.
