How to get to Hotel from Logan Airport
-
Lengthy information is available at this link. I
suggest that those of you who are unfamiliar with the Boston/Cambridge
Area print this out and bring it with you.
-
A taxi ride should cost about $30US from the airport to the University Park
Hotel on Massachusetts avenue in Cambridge. However, due to the
endless construction that occurs between the airport and the urban
centers, you may be better off taking the MBTA
(called the "T" by Bostonians) However, this option
makes sense 1) if you are comfortable getting your luggage
around---if lugging your luggage is a burden, take a taxi---or 2) you
are a little uncomfortable walking in unknown urban areas.
-
To get to the T from the airport, you take the free bus numbered #11 or
#33 conveniently labeled "subway" to the AIRPORT T stop. You
buy a T-token for $1US and take the blue line inbound, change at STATE
STREET T-STOP to the ORANGE line TOWARDS FOREST HILLS; change lines
again at the very next stop to the RED LINE TOWARDS ALEWIFE. Get off of
the RED LINE at CENTRAL SQUARE. You will be on the opposite side of
Massachusetts Avenue from the hotel. Facing Massachusetts avenue, the
hotel will be about 1/2 kilometer to your left, just past the fire
station and well before MIT and the Charles River.
How to get from Hotel to MIT Meeting rooms
MIT is a very short walk from the hotel. Exiting the hotel you will see
a main street, this is Massachusetts avenue. You will turn right Mass.
ave. and walk towards the river and MIT. Enter MIT at the main entrance
and walk down the long corridor until you reach a large lobby, lobby
10. (This is spring break for MIT, there will not be many
undergraduates around.). Look to your left for the elevators---take the
elevator to the third floor. Exit and walk to your left to Building 8.
Our meeting is in the Chipman Room (8-314)
Conference Equipment and Rooms
