Exercise 7.4
Find data for pure water so that you
can draw corresponding phase diagrams in
1)
-
space,
2)
-
space (like figure 28-5 from the lecture notes),
and
3)
-
space.
You may want to use logarithmic scales in some cases. Please lable the points, curves, and regions corresponding to the data that you have used.
Also, please indicate the sources of your data.
Exercise 7.5
Write a Limerick for the Gibbs Phase Rule.
Hopefully, you can write one that is better than
the one on page 179 of the notes.
You are each encouraged to write your own Limerick instead of a group exercise.
I hope you will wish to have your Limerick published on the 3.00 Poetry
page
(http://pruffle.mit.edu/3.00/Literature_of_Thermodynamics/), then
please send your poetry to ccarter@mit.edu in ascii format (no
attachments please).
